There is no separate family plan. Each household member enrolls at their own rate above, and the savings happen automatically because spouses and children are priced lower than a standalone adult. Additional adult, teen and child rates require a shared household address.
The Student rate is for patients enrolled at least half-time in high school, college, or a trade or vocational program. Proof of enrollment is required at signup and renewed yearly. A shared household address is not required.
Integrative Consult
A one-time integrative consultation is a chance to meet with Dr. Stephens, discuss your health concerns and goals, and leave with a comprehensive written summary and care plan — no ongoing commitment required.
Your Questions, Answered
GETTING STARTED
-
Yes. I recommend all patients maintain a health insurance plan, ideally a high-deductible or catastrophic plan, to cover things Wildflower doesn't: hospitalization, emergency care, specialist visits, imaging, and surgery. Wildflower's membership covers your primary care relationship. It isn't a replacement for insurance coverage.
-
Wildflower operates on a membership-based direct primary care model. Instead of billing insurance for office visits, you pay a simple monthly fee directly to the practice. That means no copays, no claims, no denials, and no visit limits driven by what an insurer will cover: just care built around you. You're welcome to use your insurance for anything outside of primary care, such as labs, imaging, specialist visits, or hospitalization.
-
Membership alone doesn't cover hospitalization, surgery, or emergency care, so I recommend pairing it with some form of insurance or medical cost-sharing coverage. If cost is a barrier, ask about options like health-sharing programs, which some patients use alongside their Wildflower membership for major medical expenses.
-
Possibly. Under federal law that took effect in 2026, a direct primary care membership can be paid with HSA funds as long as the total monthly fee does not exceed $150 for one person, or $300 for an arrangement covering more than one person. Wildflower's individual rates ($150 Standard, $125 Founding) are within the single-person limit. A household's combined fees can exceed the $300 limit, so please confirm your household's eligibility with your HSA administrator or a tax advisor. Wildflower does not provide tax advice.
-
As a Wildflower member, you can access wholesale, cash-pay rates for many medications, labs, and imaging studies, often lower than a typical insurance copay. I'll always let you know the cost before anything is ordered or prescribed, so there are no surprises. You're free to pay directly rather than going through insurance.
MEMBERSHIP POLICIES
-
You can reach me directly by phone, text, or patient portal message with questions, concerns, or updates between visits. I check messages during business hours and respond within one business day for non-urgent concerns.
-
Wildflower is not an urgent care or emergency service. If you're experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
-
Wildflower is part of a local network of direct primary care physicians who cover for one another when a doctor is away. If I'm unavailable, you'll have access to a trusted colleague who can help with urgent needs until I'm back.
-
I personally handle referrals and coordinate your care with specialists directly: sending records, following up on results, and staying in the loop on your treatment, so nothing falls through the cracks between visits.
-
Telehealth visits are available to Wildflower members, but state licensing rules require that I only provide care to patients located in Oregon at the time of the visit. This makes telehealth a convenient option between in-person visits, rather than a way to join Wildflower from outside the state.
-
You can cancel anytime with 30 days' written notice. Membership is month-to-month, with no long-term contract.
-
Item Yes, once in any 12 months, for up to 30 days. There are no dues during the pause and your place is held.
-
Yes, if there is room. After a 3-month wait, you can rejoin with the $150 enrollment fee again.
-
Wildflower welcomes patients of all ages, from newborns through adulthood. Whether it's a well-child visit, ongoing care for you, or support for aging parents, the whole family can be seen under one roof.
-
Because Wildflower keeps a small panel, I'm typically able to see you quickly for urgent concerns, often the same day or next day. If an in-person visit isn't possible right away, a quick telehealth visit or phone call is often available in the meantime.
CARE & PHILOSOPHY
-
Yes, when it's the right tool for the situation. My approach is root-cause first: understanding what's driving a concern, and building a plan around nutrition, lifestyle, and other tools alongside medication when it's needed. I don't discontinue medications that are working for you. If a taper ever makes sense, we'll always work through that together, thoughtfully and at your pace.
-
When appropriate, yes, but only when there's real evidence behind them, and only as one tool among many, not a default. I'm as thoughtful about starting a supplement as I am about starting a medication. Supplement orders go through Fullscript, an independent online dispensary. You get a 35% discount, and Wildflower earns no profit from your purchases.
-
Urgent care is built for one-time, in-the-moment visits with no ongoing relationship. Wildflower is the opposite: an ongoing primary care relationship where I actually know your history over time. Traditional concierge medicine is often layered on top of an existing insurance-based practice for an added fee. Wildflower replaces the insurance billing model entirely with one simple, transparent membership.
-
All three look beyond symptoms to root causes, but each has a different focus. Functional medicine leans heavily on lab testing and biochemistry to investigate root causes. Lifestyle medicine focuses specifically on nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, and connection as treatment. Integrative medicine is the broadest of the three, combining conventional medicine with complementary approaches like acupuncture and mind-body work, often using lifestyle and functional tools as part of a larger plan. I'm board-certified in both Family Medicine and Integrative Medicine, so you get full-scope primary care (diagnosis, prescribing, labs, and procedures) built around that whole-person approach.
